THE SWORD , THE CROWN AND THE EVS PROJECT

Everyone in the class made pen stands and some other things.

I walked in… with a sword in one hand and a cardboard crown on my head.

Yes. For my EVS project.

I wasn’t trying to be the best. I just wanted to break the silence. The moment I put that crown on my head, something unexpected happened—the whole class started clapping. Loudly. Some laughed. Some were shocked. Even the lecturers froze for a second.

But for the first time in a long time, that classroom felt alive.

Our new EVS mam, who barely knew me, stared in surprise. The viva sir looked like he didn’t sign up for this. But I stood there—not as a topper, not as a brilliant student, but as someone who dared to break the boring routine.

I didn’t get great marks. In fact, I got the least. But that day, I got something else:

Joy. Laughter. Applause.

And sometimes in life, that’s enough. Not everyone gets to be the best in marks. But if you can make someone smile, if you can make a dull class laugh, you’ve done something beautiful.

Here’s the truth:
We won’t always win.
We won’t always score high.
We won’t always be taken seriously.

But we can still be happy.

We can still wear a crown made of cardboard and own the moment.
We can still choose joy over perfection, and laughter over pressure.

So to anyone reading this:
Be happy. Do that weird thing. Make people laugh.
Life’s too short to only chase marks.
Sometimes the most unforgettable thing... is the courage to just be you.
